Ruby ate supper every afternoon around 4:30. She had saltines with butter.
One day, when Snookie was three years old ruby went to work. She was a waitress at a local eating establishment. In the afternoon she arrived home and was told the heart-breaking news that Snookie was dead. She died from choking on a piece of cornbread. Ruby could never express her loss over her secret little girl. She never told a single soul about Snookie. Even Earl whom she was married to for forty-five years never knew her secret.
